In cities with a Chinatown, weekend mornings bring dim sum carts or order sheets, and lines form early at the most popular spots in Anaheim; walk-ins are standard and reservations are uncommon outside large banquet restaurants. Regional labels matter: Cantonese, Sichuan, Hunan, Shanghainese and Taiwanese kitchens cook very differently, so a restaurant's stated region is a better guide to the food than the word "Chinese" alone. Some smaller restaurants in California are BYOB with no corkage fee; call ahead to confirm. A tip of 15-20% is customary for table service but not expected at counter-order takeout. Spice level, MSG and allergen questions are normal to ask before ordering, and most kitchens are happy to leave an ingredient out or tone down the heat if you mention it when ordering rather than after the food arrives.
The business lists hours on 7 days of the week. The most common schedule is 5 pm–12 am. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. The listed phone number is (714) 860-4117. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone.

Anaheim is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. Traffic in Anaheim peaks on weekday mornings and afternoons, so allow extra time then. I had been meaning to try House of Shabu Shabu II for a while. My sister had good things to say about it, and shabu is one of those meals I rarely need convincing to eat. So we brought the family, ordered generously and settled in expecting a proper celebration. Within ten minutes, I was wondering where the hell we had brought everyone. Start with the room. I have no problem with an old restaurant. Some of the best places in the world have furniture older than the people eating there. But age and neglect are not the same thing. Our booth was literally peeling apart badly enough that my child complained about sitting on it. Dust and debris had accumulated along edges and corners, cords hung awkwardly around the seating area and everything felt like it needed a serious deep cleaning. Then there was the heat. The restaurant felt like a sauna, which is an impressive achievement for a place where every table already has boiling pots of broth. The air conditioning seemed to improve briefly, then disappeared again. When we finally complained, a server propped open the door and introduced exactly what the room needed… More hot summer air. Service was chaos disguised as friendliness. We

I really enjoyed this place because it brings together different types of Asian cuisine in one spot. Being able to order both hot pot and sushi is such a great combination! Cooking your own hot pot makes the whole experience fun and interactive, and everything was fresh and delicious. The service was fast, and the staff was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and attentive throughout our visit. I’d definitely come back and highly recommend this place!

this place has now become a new go-to spot for my family, my friends, and me! fair warning that during dinner time the wait can be quite long and they unfortunately don’t take reservations, but the food was well worth the wait! lunch hours the wait is much more forgiving! the only reason i give this place 4/5 is i reallyyyy wish they would take reservations! despite that, no complaints! my entire family loved the food and i’ve heard nothing but positive remarks from friends i have taken here!

The food was good, but the service was terrible. This location opens at 5 PM, and we arrived around 5:15–5:20 PM on Wednesday, 5/27/2026, after my brother’s graduation. The restaurant was not crowded at all — the tables around us were literally empty. There were about four servers working at the time: the Spanish lady and the shy girl with limited English were both very kind, but unfortunately the young Asian waiter and waitress were not. There was a tall, skinny Asian waiter wearing a hat and mask who took us to our table. My first impression was that he was wearing an old, dirty shirt with multiple bleach stains on it, almost like he had just come from construction work. When my brother asked him to clarify the menu, he responded with an attitude, as if he expected us to already know how everything worked. His tone and choice of words sounded rude and unkind, similar to a professor talking down to a student for asking a question that had already been explained in class. I’m not sure if he was having a bad day or if my brother’s heavy accent somehow annoyed him and affected his behavior. When we separated the bowls, we noticed dirty stains, dried vegetable residue, and even a pie
